My Fairground

Making a Fist

Day 6 – Prompt Equals Weird Wisdom

Created this contribution while I worked today in the shop. I really enjoyed this challenge. I’m not convinced however this will be the final version.

Say

'My knees are really good looking'
Before you take your trousers off or when you next meet a policeman.

'This tea is really wet'
After your first gulp, and no cake or biscuits have been offered.

'Well, blow me over'
To cover up how underwhelmed you feel or, if your pretending to be my Dad, your go to response when tech confuses you.

'I'll go to the foot of our stairs'
When you're overwhelmed or, when  pretending to be my mother, being underwhelmed by her sons achievements.

Not one word, as there's nothing to say
While in green Emily sings.

'Twelve, give me twelve'
To the shop assistant, who took the stickers for number one and two and placed them in a bag.

Nothing.
Just behold my son's magnificent face.

'Nothing'
When there IS something.

'Thank you'
When you think about your parents, a beloved person or pet.

Your name.
After you've read this poem, just before you march, run, leap and fly.
